Job description
As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Commercial and Investment Bank, Public Sector Lockbox, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices., * Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
- Lead and inspire a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Oversee technical design, architecture, and implementation to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
- Leads team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and SDLC/TLM automation to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational outcomes, while setting expectations for human validation, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and consistent use of reusable patterns across teams.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation and support capacity unlock initiatives., A Government Security Clearance will be required for this position. This includes, but is not limited to:

- References (possibly)
- Proof of U.S. Legal Permanent Residence for 7 years
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
- Experience leading teams of technologists, with the ability to guide and coach teams to achieve goals aligned with strategic initiatives
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability
- Experience leading technology projects and managing technologist
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies, application resiliency, and security

Working proficiency with development toolsets like GIT/Bitbucket, JIRA, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience leading responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools across engineering teams, including defining ways of working (review/validation expectations), measuring outcomes, and ensuring secure handling of data.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, resiliency/security implications, and governance expectations; ability to coach engineers on compliant and effective usage.
- Has to be a UC Citizen or Permanent Resident for 7 continuous years, * Experience working at code level
- Proficiency in Java, REST, and microservices preferred
- Hands on experience using LLMs, Agentic AI; Copilot in VSCode preferred
