Job description

Insight Global is seeking an AI Engineer to support a client based in Leawood, Kansas. This role focuses on designing, building, and deploying end to end AI applications for production. The position involves developing AI agents with reasoning, tool usage, and workflow automation capabilities, as well as implementing RAG systems, vector databases, and agentic architectures. Responsibilities include prompt engineering, context optimization, and model fine tuning to improve performance and accuracy. The role also includes integrating AI models into real products using APIs, databases, and backend services. This is a hands on technical builder position that requires strong ownership but no people management responsibilities. The client is looking to hire as soon as possible.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying production AI applications

  • Strong Python experience with ability to write production-ready code

  • Experience building REST APIs ( FastAPI or Flask)

  • Familiarity with LangChain and LLM APIs (OpenAI or Anthropic) Background in traditional software engineering
