Job description

Auria is looking to hire a Senior Software Developer to support a classified mission operations program for the U.S. Space Force. This role focuses on middleware architecture, API integration, and cloud-native software development in a classified environment, working in close coordination with the Cloud Architect and systems engineering team. Primary work location is Colorado Springs, CO (hybrid). Travel to Government and Auria facilities may be required. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:

  • Lead the design and implementation of the program middleware and API integration framework, establishing architectural patterns for the software development team.
  • Develop, test, and integrate software components supporting command and control, data integration, and mission operations capabilities using C, C#, C++, Java, or Rust as primary development languages.
  • Collaborate with the Cloud Architect on cloud-native service integration and infrastructure-as-code patterns during early program phases.
  • Participate in design meetings and collaborate with the Chief Engineer, SEIT Lead, and Product Owner to translate system requirements and backlog stories into software designs.
  • Prepare software documentation including design specifications, interface definitions, and test reports as required for design reviews.
  • Support software integration activities including functional, interface, and performance testing across the middleware and external system interfaces.
  • Establish coding standards, review practices, and DevSecOps pipeline integration patterns for the software development team.

Requirements

  • Mission-Driven Professional: Collaborative contributor motivated by the opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions that protect and serve both the nation and the world.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Top SECRET security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 8-12 years of experience in software development on classified DoW programs, with demonstrated full lifecycle development experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more C-derived languages: C, C#, C++, Java, or Rust; experience with API design and middleware integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and cloud-native development practices; experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience working in an Agile/SAFe development environment using JIRA and Confluence.

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:

  • Current U.S. Government Top SECRET clearance.
  • Experience supporting DoW, U.S. Space Force, or Space Systems Command ground system or C2 programs.
  • Experience with REST API development, data integration pipelines, and cloud-native microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps toolchains (GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, Ansible, Terraform) and STIG-compliant development practices.
  • AWS Developer Associate or equivalent certification.
