Job description

We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Architect to design and lead enterprise-scale cloud data platforms on AWS. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data lakes, data warehouses, cloud-native architectures, governance, and modern data technologies including Apache Iceberg, EMR, and Aurora., * Design scalable and secure data architectures on AWS.

  • Define enterprise data models, standards, and best practices.
  • Architect data lake and data warehouse solutions using AWS services.
  • Lead implementation of Apache Iceberg-based lakehouse architectures.
  • Design high-performance data processing solutions using Amazon EMR.
  • Architect transactional and analytical solutions leveraging Amazon Aurora.
  • Establish data governance, security, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and solution architects.
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across projects.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Terraform?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering/Data Architecture.

  • Strong expertise in AWS cloud services.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Iceberg, Amazon EMR, and Amazon Aurora.
  • Deep understanding of Data Lakes, Lakehouse, and Data Warehouse architectures.
  • Expertise in SQL, Python, Spark/PySpark.
  • Experience with AWS S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, IAM, Lambda, and Step Functions.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or Redshift.
  • Knowledge of streaming platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis.
  • AWS Certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Data Analytics Specialty).

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
