Following significant growth, they’re investing heavily in engineering leadership and are seeking experienced Technical Leads and Lead Engineers to help shape the next generation of their platform.

The Role

This is a 70% hands-on engineering and 30% leadership position.

We’re specifically looking for leaders who still love writing code, solving complex technical problems, and contributing to architecture.

What You’ll Be Doing

Technical Leadership

Designing and building scalable services using Go

Modernising and evolving a large-scale PHP platform

Building high-performance APIs and backend services

Driving architectural decisions across multiple product areas

Leading code reviews and engineering best practices

Solving complex scalability, reliability, and performance challenges

Contributing across backend and frontend technologies

Championing clean code, testing, and maintainability

People Leadership

Leading, mentoring, and coaching software engineers

Conducting regular 1-to-1s

Supporting career development and growth

Building high-performing engineering teams

Creating a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture

Supporting hiring and team expansion

Essential

Strong commercial Golang experience

Strong commercial PHP experience

Previous experience leading software engineering teams

Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing engineers

Experience operating as a Technical Lead, Team Lead, Lead Engineer, or Hands-On Engineering Manager

Strong API design and development experience

AWS cloud experience

Strong Object-Oriented Programming principles

Modern software architecture experience
