Sr. Security Engineer

On Cue Hire is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to support our client in Boca Raton, FL (onsite). This is a hands-on role responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining security protocols to protect enterprise systems, networks, and data. The ideal candidate brings strong experience executing within established security frameworks while proactively identifying risks and strengthening overall security posture. Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls aligned with CIS and NIST frameworks
• Monitor systems, detect vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents in real time
• Perform risk assessments, audits, and testing to ensure effectiveness of security measures
• Manage access controls and safeguard sensitive and confidential data
• Implement and maintain tools such as firewalls, encryption, EDR, and endpoint protection
• Partner with internal teams to identify security risks and recommend system or process improvements
• Support compliance initiatives, including SOX and internal audits
• Maintain and update security systems, including virus protection and threat detection tools
• Develop and maintain documentation, policies, and incident response procedures
• Promote security awareness and provide guidance to users to reduce risk and prevent violations

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security
• Strong knowledge of network security, encryption, authentication, and access controls
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, EDR solutions, vulnerability scanning, and security tools
• Experience working within CIS, NIST, or similar security frameworks
• Experience supporting compliance-driven environments (SOX preferred)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred:

• Security certifications (CISSP, Security+, or similar)
• Experience supporting cloud environments (AWS or Azure)
• Experience in highly available, fast-paced environments
