Application Lab Technician

KYZEN is seeking a motivated Application Lab Technician to join our Application Lab team at our global headquarters in Nashville, TN. This position is ideal for an individual with some hands-on lab experience who is eager to apply their skills in a specialized, high-tech environment.

In this position, you will assist in the evaluation and documentation of cleaning processes used across some of the most demanding industries in the world - aerospace, semiconductors, medical devices, and high-reliability electronics. Day-to-day work includes preparing and inspecting samples, running established test protocols, operating and maintaining lab equipment, and recording results with accuracy and care., * Perform cleaning evaluations, including sample preparation and inspection

• Execute established test protocols for cleanliness assessment, solubility testing, and process evaluation
• Analyze and document results from cleaning evaluations accurately and thoroughly
• Write clear and detailed technical reports based on evaluation outcomes
• Maintain general lab cleanliness and perform routine equipment and instrument maintenance
• Support calibration and upkeep of lab equipment under the guidance of the Lab Manager
• Assist with inventory tracking and supply management
• Follow all lab safety protocols and SDS requirements consistently
• Continuously learn about industry trends, technologies, and customer needs to stay current
• Support the lab team on additional tasks and projects as the role develops

• General mechanical awareness and comfort using common lab tools and/or equipment
• Familiarity with laboratory environments, basic terminology, or analytical equipment is a plus but not required
• Ability to handle samples and equipment carefully while keeping accurate records
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), We value the right mindset and aptitude over a specific credential. The following is a guide, not a strict requirement:
• Hands-on technical experience or vocational training is preferred
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field will be seriously considered
• A track record of curiosity, follow-through, and willingness to learn

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work with chemicals using proper safety precautions (PPE, SDS compliance)
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to work with 55-gallon drums (~500 lbs using a drum dolly) and pails (~50 lbs)
