Job description
Youâll be the go-to person for designing, building, and implementing high-performance compute clusters using the latest technology. Taking into account development needs, what the next generation looks like, and stakeholder goals, youâll help shape and be accountable for the design and loadout of new systems - as well as where the broader technology and CI/CD landscape is heading. This role mixes deep architecture with hands-on engineering: youâll set the technical direction, build reusable patterns that other teams can adopt, and own the result end-to-end. Responsibilities Develop the technical roadmap and reusable patterns that enable teams to leverage LLM solutions where it makes sense. Starting with high-ROI pilots, youâll develop âeasy buttonâ templates and common resources for teams to adopt - while preserving flexibility for organizations to continue managing their own on-premise infrastructure when the work demands it.
Architect end-to-end solutions for complex compute and platform services, creating integration patterns between legacy systems and new HPC, and ensuring solutions maintain security controls while improving performance and scalability.
Conduct technical assessments of existing infrastructure, working with stakeholders to unpack services running on aging platforms, document dependencies, evaluate utility, and build prioritization frameworks based on EOL dates, operational impact, cost efficiency, and user pain points.
Design modernized workflows and user experiences, reimagining how developers interact with their development environment and leveraging new tools.
Make this the best place for software development you can - create a development environment that attracts the best talent and keeps them, instead of chasing them away.
Requirements
Do you have experience in System design?, Do you have a Masterâs degree?, 8+ years with a Bachelorâs degree, OR
6+ years with a Masterâs degree, OR
4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree, Strong background in corporate services and stakeholder management, with the ability to build ROI models and translate technical decisions for executives, security teams, and developers.
5+ years of deep systems engineering and cloud architecture experience, with a proven track record of building, breaking, and rebuilding complex enterprise infrastructure.
Demonstrated expertise in system design, configuration, and usability in production environments, including hands-on experience with HPC.
Prior experience leading infrastructure modernization and technical transformations - specifically executing incremental migrations rather than âlift-and-shiftâ approaches.
Familiarity with cloud compliance processes, particularly those surrounding ATO (Authority to Operate) and ongoing operations.
Nice to Haves Reverse engineering or capability-development background - understanding what developers actually need makes you a more effective infrastructure architect.
Enclave experience - you understand what makes restricted environments different (constraints, processes, and how security controls impact architecture decisions).
Cost optimization expertise - experience right-sizing cloud resources, building FinOps practices, or making defensible recommendations about when cloud implementations actually save money vs. when managed-service costs spiral.
