Job description

A client of Insight Global is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to serve as a senior subject matter expert responsible for troubleshooting, configuring, and managing enterprise networks and devices including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, encryptors, routing protocols, and telecommunications technologies. While providing expert technical guidance to the Government, Project Lead, and Network Engineers in support of customer network operations. Duties also include reviewing contractor work for compliance with government standards and best practices; staying current on network, technology, and IT trends to recommend system and process improvements; serving as an on-call escalation point to advise on ticket resolution and escalation procedures; delivering professional customer service; and completing and submitting After-Action Review templates to the GPOC within 24 hours of closing any critical ticket.

Requirements

Active Top Secret security clearance

5+ years of IT experience specializing in networking technologies

Expertise with Cisco switches and routers

Ability to resolve complex LAN/WAN issues

Experience with network management tools (Riverbed, Wireshark, Micro Focus Network Automation)

Web applications, web servers, application load balancers, and storage systems

Security tools & methodologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, access control lists)

Ability to act as a senior SME for troubleshooting, configuring, and managing enterprise networks

Ability to serve as an on-call escalation point for unresolved tickets and/or complete After-Action Reviews within 24 hours of critical ticket closure

Expert-level knowledge of:

IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP

MPLS

Stateful firewalls

Encryption technologies Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field

Cisco CCNP (Enterprise, Data Center, or Security)

Hands-on experience with load balancers

Knowledge of broader enterprise web/infrastructure environments

Prior experience supporting FBI IT Infrastructure Division (ideal but not required)
