Job description

  • Build and maintain AWS cloud environments including account structures, VPCs, subnets, route tables, gateways, and security groups.
  • Design and implement secure VPC architectures including peering, NAT gateways, and network access controls.
  • Capture and document AWS environment configurations using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
  • Develop reproducible and recoverable cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
  • Restore AWS environments from IaC templates, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Manage AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Implement AWS Backup policies and snapshot strategies for EC2, RDS, and EBS recovery.
  • Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and compliance using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config.

Linux Administration

  • Install, configure, and maintain ServiceNow MID Servers on RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu environments.
  • Apply operating system patches, hardening configurations, and security updates.
  • Ensure compliance with STIG and CIS Benchmark requirements.
  • Automate system administration tasks using Bash, Python, and Ansible.

Security & Documentation

  • Design and maintain cloud environments aligned with FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST 800-53 security controls.
  • Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, topology maps, runbooks, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with network and cybersecurity teams regarding firewall rules, enclave connectivity, and security compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation technologies.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Virtual Private Clouds?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related STEM field with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience Schedule: First Shift Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance required at time of hire (U.S. citizenship required)

In this role, you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to, * 3-5+ years of hands-on AWS cloud administration experience.

  • Strong experience with AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
  • Expertise designing and managing AWS networking architectures and VPC environments.
  • Experience using Terraform and/or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code deployments.
  • Ability to rebuild, recover, and restore AWS environments using IaC and backup solutions.
  • Linux administration experience with RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu.
  • Scripting experience using Bash and/or Python.
  • Knowledge of cloud security frameworks including FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST 800-53.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate.
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
  • RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) or equivalent Linux certification.
  • Experience supporting ServiceNow MID Server deployments and administration.
  • Experience working within classified DoD cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with SDA, satellite, space systems, or defense-related programs.
