Job description

As SC Cleared Network Solutions Engineer, you will be the technical authority throughout the sales cycle. You’ll lead discovery sessions, run proof-of-concept engagements, and translate complex network challenges into clear, compelling solutions for public sector clients - up to C-suite level. This is not a pure sales role. Your credibility is technical. The commercial element is fully supported.

What You’ll Be Doing Leading technical discovery and supporting the full bid and sales cycle Running product demonstrations and proof-of-concept engagements Acting as the trusted technical expert for UK Government and public sector clients Translating network and security challenges into business value Contributing to RFPs, technical documentation, and solution design Partnering with product and engineering teams to relay market insight Building long-term relationships with key stakeholders across government accounts

Requirements

Essential: Current, active SC clearance (applications without this cannot be progressed) 5+ years in IT, with solid experience in network engineering, technical support, or presales Proven track record supporting UK Government, MOD, or public sector clients Strong Cisco expertise - routing, switching, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN topologies Experience working with WAN/MPLS, enterprise networking, or secure infrastructure environments Confident communicator at all levels including C-suite Comfortable with regular UK travel (3-4 days per week)

Desirable: CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification Experience with security concepts, network performance, or fault management Familiarity with cloud and virtualisation technologies Military technical training or MOD background welcomed Exposure to RFP/RFI processes or technical bid writing Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent technical experience

Benefits & conditions

If you hold current SC clearance and have a strong network engineering background, this role was built for you. You’ve spent years delivering complex technical solutions in secure government or defence environments. Now you want a role where your expertise shapes real commercial outcomes - without leaving the world you know. This is your opportunity.

About the company

Our client is a global leader in network visibility and digital assurance, supporting the UK’s most critical public sector organisations. Their technology helps government clients detect threats, resolve network problems faster, and secure infrastructure at scale - across some of the most complex and sensitive environments in the country.
