IT Support Technician

The City of Alcoa is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of IT Support Technician. Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager, the IT Support Technician will provide technical assistance and support to employees and end users. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues while delivering excellent customer service and timely resolution of technical problems., * Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests via phone, email, and ticketing system.

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer, and network connectivity issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and applications.
• Create, modify, and manage user accounts and permissions.
• Document support requests, resolutions, and system changes in the ticketing system.
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
• Assist with system upgrades, software deployments, and equipment setup.
• Provide end-user training and technical guidance.
• Maintain inventory of IT equipment and peripherals.

Do you have experience in Desktop administration?, Do you have a Associate’s degree?, Knowledge and Personal Skills

Applicants must have strong communication skills who demonstrate professionalism and support to staff. In addition, the ideal candidate will have some experience and excellent knowledge of computer systems and technical support.

Education and Experience

• Associate degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• At least three (3) or more years of experience in a technical support role.
