Job description

As a Backend Engineer, you will build and scale the services and APIs that power Vale’s products, machine platform, and data pipelines.

  • Design and build robust, scalable back-end services and APIs
  • Own the reliability, performance, and observability of the systems you build
  • Collaborate with Front-End Engineers, Data, and Hardware teams to deliver integrated features
  • Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to system design decisions
  • Write comprehensive tests and participate in code reviews
  • Debug and resolve production incidents quickly and with clear communication
  • Document systems and APIs thoroughly for internal and external consumers

  • 4+ years of back-end engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Go, Node.js, or a comparable back-end language
  • Experience designing and building RESTful or GraphQL APIs
  • Solid understanding of relational and non-relational database design
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD
