Imagery Scientist, SAR/EO - TS/SCI Clearance Required

Overall Assignment Description: The candidate will support NGA’s Maven program through imagery acquisition, imagery curation, data transformation, and imagery science as part of the model development process.

Candidates may support SAR, EO, or multi-modality imagery efforts depending on their background. Work may include imagery exploitation, remote sensing, image quality assessment, algorithm development, imagery processing, and communication of imagery capabilities and limitations to technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills and Demonstrated Experience:

· Senior Level: Master’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; OR bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience; OR associate degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; OR 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

· Expert Level: Meets Senior Level requirements with an additional 8+ years of relevant experience.

· 4+ years of experience with SAR and/or EO imagery, including collection, phenomenology, image formation process, and exploitation products.

· Experience exploiting SAR and/or EO imagery to determine the occurrence and location of an object of interest.

· Experience developing, testing, and evaluating new algorithms, processes, methodologies, and products using imagery.

· Experience using advanced processing tools such as Python, MATLAB, Google Earth Engine, SARPy, MATLAB SAR Toolbox, or similar tools.

· Experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences on the availability, limitations, and capabilities of SAR and/or EO imagery.

· Deep understanding of the principles of remote sensing, imagery processing, and advanced exploitation methods.

SAR-Specific Experience:

· Experience using SARPy and MATLAB SAR Toolbox.

· Experience with RNIIRS, information theoretic-based image quality metrics, SAR imagery quality metrics, and sensor metadata such as graze, squint, and azimuth.

EO-Specific Experience:

· Experience utilizing advanced processing tools to automate scientific processes of EO imagery data to aid analysis.

Desired Skills and Demonstrated Experience:

· Experience applying computer vision and machine learning techniques to SAR and/or EO imagery and data., * SAR and/or EO Imagery: 4 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• TS/SCI Security Clearance (Required)
