Job description

  • Analyze and understand existing DataStage ETL jobs and workflows.
  • Trace and document end-to-end data flows from source systems to target systems.
  • Support, maintain, and troubleshoot existing ETL processes and data pipelines.
  • Work with data received from upstream applications, flat files, and databases.
  • Investigate data issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with Oracle database teams for data validation and issue resolution.
  • Utilize Unix/Linux commands and scripting to support ETL operations.
  • Coordinate with offshore development and support teams to ensure smooth delivery and issue resolution.
  • Participate in production support activities and operational troubleshooting.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to understand data movement and processing requirements.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot (nice to have) to improve productivity and code analysis.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience with DataStage.
  • Strong experience understanding and supporting complex ETL workflows.
  • Ability to analyze existing DataStage code and understand end-to-end processing logic.
  • Experience working with Oracle databases and writing SQL queries.
  • Basic to intermediate Unix/Linux scripting knowledge.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting production ETL environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across onshore and offshore teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools.
  • Banking or Financial Services experience.
  • Experience documenting data flows and ETL processes.

Work Environment

  • Regular interaction with offshore team members.
  • Flexibility to occasionally start earlier in the day to support offshore coordination and project discussions.
  • Collaborative team environment focused on application support, analysis, and operational excellence.
