Job description

The Ship’s Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) Program is the Navy’s Flagship Signal’s Intelligence (SIGINT) system; installed on U.S. Navy ships, Coast Guard platforms, and Foreign Navy’s and shore sites. NIWC Atlantic is the In-Service Engineering Agency (ISEA) responsible for lifecycle support, from development through transition. This support, ultimately, is designed to ensure the deployed SSEE systems and Navy operators are positioned for success against our Nation’s adversaries. Applying critical thinking skills and organizational expertise to help plan and execute installation and modification of our systems onboard USN surface combatants, special mission platforms, and shore installations

  • Working in a Fleet Facing Role and represent the U.S. Government in the execution of priority tech refresh tasks on US Navy ships in ports around the world

Requirements

  • Able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience with shipboard (or submarine) systems installation and alterations
  • Ability to review and interpret Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs) and wire connection lists
  • Familiarity with MS office products as well as Adobe Pro to review and redline drawings/documents
  • Working knowledge of MIL-STD requirements, Information Assurance (IA) requirements, and industry formats for electronic documentation sharing
  • Ability to manage and plan shipboard equipment installation levels of effort (LOEs)
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • This job may require special protective equipment, training, and following safety rules to avoid injury

Desired Skills

  • Candidates possessing a strong technical or installations related background as it applies to Navy C4ISR systems will be given additional consideration.
  • Hands-on experience and training associated with RF systems, cabling, processing, and networks
  • Experience routing and terminating connectors on site
  • Experience working in shipyards for installations, backfit, or maintenance oversight and planning
