Job description

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to focus on building and scaling backend systems for a high-scale e-commerce marketplace. This role will drive API development, distributed system design, and data pipeline execution while contributing to architectural decisions and technical direction. The position involves designing, building, and maintaining the backend systems that power the e-commerce platform., * Design and build scalable backend systems and APIs, including REST and gRPC.

  • Partner with product managers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead architecture discussions and guide the backend technical direction.
  • Review code, provide technical guidance, and mentor engineers on best practices and design decisions.
  • Develop and maintain Airflow data pipelines using Python for both batch and real-time processing.
  • Build and support event-driven systems and batch processing frameworks.
  • Ensure systems are reliable, maintainable, and well-documented.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of backend engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on, production-level Golang experience.
  • Strong experience designing scalable distributed systems on Google Cloud Platform or a similar cloud platform.
  • Experience building and designing clean, maintainable APIs (REST and/or gRPC).
  • Experience with Airflow DAGs in Python or similar pipeline tooling.
  • Experience with Kafka or similar message streaming platforms for event-driven systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and service deployment.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions.
  • Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills., * Experience in e-commerce or marketplace platform domains.
  • Experience with the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem (e.g., BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run).
  • Strong data pipeline or data engineering exposure.
  • Experience working in highly scalable, high-traffic environments.
