Job description

The IT Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day administration and overall operations of their specialty area within the organization.Provides guidance and direction on subject matter to employees and programs within the Departments.Oversees and plans the coordination and implementation of new activities and programs to enhance the efficiency of operations within the organization., Provides support and direct oversight of the daily operations.

Monitors day-to-day operations.

Develops, plans, and coordinates operational activities.

Creates, develops, implements, and promotes information and customer service.

Develops and implements a data tracking system.

Attends and participates in meetings.

Manages inventory and purchases.

Ensures operations are in compliance with legal and program requirements.

Communicates and coordinates with employees, management, and vendors.

Provides technical support to employees, troubleshooting, analyzing, and problem-solving.

Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Provides training and orientation to ensure employees are in adherence to standard operating procedures.

SPECIFIC PROGRAM DUTIES:

Provides customer service support and direct oversight of the day-to-day IT operations.

Provides technical support to employees, troubleshooting hardware and software challenges.

Communicates with employees and vendors on the IT systems and equipment.

Coordinates and manages the movement and installation of IT equipment to ensure coordination of IT support and customer service.

Coordinates work orders for IT.

Helps and assists in troubleshooting IT issues.

Maintains computer systems inventories, list of system software and users.

Maintains records of the license for; Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Adobe.

Proides technical assistance regarding the phone system and submission of work orders.

Provides email access, maintenance, and clean-up of the email list.

Maintains and is accountable for the issuance of keys and key fobs.

Creates, develops, implements, and promotes IT information and employee customer service.

Coordinates the new employee’s computer access, passwords, email access, telephone, and IT systems equipment.

Maintains, evaluates, and monitors the IT system.

Performs all other duties assigned by the Tribal President.

Requirements

Preferred: Possess an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, and Information Systems, or any closely related field from an accredited College or University with two (2) years of verifiable, successful work experience as a support specialist or in a position of equal level or responsibility.

Minimum: High School or General Education Diploma AND a minimum of 2 years of experience in an increasingly responsible administrative/clerical capacity with a demonstrated experience serving in an entry-level capacity and/or combination of education, training, and experience equal to 2 years can be substituted that must be documented.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Knowledgeable of computer operating systems, software, hardware, IT systems, and equipment.

Knowledgeable in IT help desk work.

Knowledgeable in providing technical support and troubleshooting.

Knowledgeable in speaking, writing, listening, and problem-solving skills.

Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Knowledgeable and skilled in correct spelling, grammar, and administrative office procedures.

Knowledgeable of all types of general office equipment, i.e., copiers, calculators, postage meters, and fax machines.

Skills to read, analyze, and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence.

Skills in communication, both oral and written, to interact with departmental staff, clients, officials, funding agencies, and other individuals regarding program and client matters.

Ability to organize and maintain clear and concise records.

Ability to be a self-starter and be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision.

Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Ability to operate software for letter processing and spreadsheets.

Ability to read computer screens and printed documents., Physical ability to work in an office setting and operate office equipment. See in the normal visual range with or without correction; must be able to read computer screens and printed documents. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands and fingers to operate office equipment. Occasionally, stoop, crouch or crawl may be required, and moderate lifting., Possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License. Subject to a background check and drug screening. Must sign a Confidentiality Agreement and abide by confidentiality regarding the program. The Wichita and Affiliated Tribes hiring preference policy applies.

Benefits & conditions

$22.04 to $27.37 hourly
