Job description

We’re looking for a talented and experienced Lead BI Developer to join our team! In this role, you’ll be a key player in transforming business needs into powerful reporting and analytics solutions. You’ll partner closely with our Finance, Sales & Marketing, and Operations teams, leveraging your expertise to design, develop, implement, and transform business requirements into powerful, scalable, and high-performing applications. You will be a technical expert responsible for guiding the design, development, and support of our enterprise QlikView business intelligence solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Work with business analysts and users across various departments to understand their reporting and analytics needs, then translate these requirements into optimal and scalable Qlikview data models and visualizations.

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data models, dashboards, and reports, ensuring adherence to Qlikview architecture guidelines and best practices.

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain complex QlikView load scripts, managing data extraction from multiple sources and building a robust QVD layer.

  • Create intuitive, high-performance dashboards and visualizations using Set Analysis, variables, and optimized front-end expressions.

  • Provide ongoing enhancements and production support for data models and applications. Understand critical business needs, identify issues promptly, and resolve them with a sense of urgency.

  • Lead on design options and approaches, create mock-ups of proposed solutions, and develop appropriate applications that align with agreed-upon specifications.

  • Configure user authentication and implement robust Qlikview section access to control user access, maintaining data security and integrity.

  • Proactively identify and resolve issues, performance bottlenecks, and failures. Manage application deployment, scheduling, and monitoring through the QlikView Management Console (QMC).

  • Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers, identifying opportunities for coding, process, and functionality improvements to ensure high-quality, efficient solutions.

  • Participate in our Scrum process, taking ownership of Jira stories from conception to completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Qlikview design, development, and implementation.

  • Expert-level proficiency in QlikView scripting, including data transformations and optimization techniques.

  • Deep understanding of QlikView data modeling (star schemas, link tables) and best practices to resolve synthetic keys.

  • Proven experience with performance tuning of QlikView applications (both script and front-end UI).

  • Strong SQL skills and experience connecting to various data sources (e.g., SQL Server, SAP, flat files).

  • Experience with Qlik NPrinting is a plus.

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, capable of working effectively both independently and as a technical lead of a team.

  • Strong communication skills, ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
