Job description

Here, your opinions matter, your creativity is valued, and you’ll have the autonomy to launch new initiatives-seeing them through from concept to release. Let’s shape the very foundation of Pinterest’s web platform together. What you’ll do:

  • Elevate Developer Impact: Design and build robust frameworks and tools that empower hundreds of engineers and support millions of users.
  • Drive Platform Excellence: Improve foundational web architecture, build systems, CI/CD, and testing capabilities to unlock new levels of developer efficiency.
  • Lead Lasting Change: Identify and solve cross-cutting site-wide challenges; propose, prototype, and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Champion Developer Experience: Partner across teams to drive transformative, cross-functional initiatives that improve everything from performance and accessibility to build speed and reliability.
  • Uplift Code and Culture: Mentor colleagues, participate in code/design reviews, and help set the architectural vision for our web platform.
  • Leverage AI Thoughtfully: Use AI to accelerate execution (prototyping, documentation, testing) and drive insights, always ensuring quality and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Deep Platform Knowledge: 3+ years in FullStack/Web development, with mastery of JavaScript, CSS, DOM, HTTP, and browser fundamentals.
  • Modern Tech Stack Skills: Experience with React, Redux (or other state tools), Relay, GraphQL, TypeScript, Jest, and React Testing Library.
  • Build & Release Expertise: Strong familiarity with build tools (Webpack, Turbopack, Vite), CI/CD flows, and scalable architectures.
  • Server & SSR Savvy: Experience with Node.js, server-side rendering, and frameworks like Next.js.
  • Polyglot Mindset: Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, Go-or the drive to pick up new languages as needed.
  • Proven Platform Impact: History of leading large-scale, multi-team projects that elevate developer experience and product quality.
  • Exemplary Communication: Skilled at collaborating and influencing across engineering, testing, and platform adoption efforts.
  • Passion for the Web: Relentlessly up-to-date on new technologies and best-in-class client architectures.
  • AI Fluency: Track record using AI to boost speed, quality, and insight-plus the rigor to validate AI-driven work.
  • Integrity & Ownership: You protect data, avoid over-reliance on AI, and champion accountability at every step.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
