Job description

Monitoring and evaluation (30%)

  • Support the development of practical monitoring and evaluation systems across the organisation’s programmes.
  • Help the organisation better understand the impact and reach of its work through clear, consistent and meaningful data.
  • Work with colleagues across the organisation to ensure the organisation’s data and key systems, including our CRM, dashboards and databases, are effective, accurate, and useful. This includes improving data capture, enabling consistent reporting, and ensuring that quality data can be used to support organisational priorities.
  • Support colleagues to use systems confidently and understand data requirements, providing analytic solutions that meet the needs of the organisation, and identifying where practices and systems can be improved.

Reporting, analytics and insights (30%)

  • Lead management, analysis and reporting of our data - ensuring the organisation, partners and funders have timely, robust and relevant analysis. Produce engaging data visualisation to meet needs of different audiences.
  • Support the SLT in the preparation of regular reports and dashboards for trustee/board meetings; and use data to identify trends, risks, gaps and opportunities for the organisation.
  • Draw out clear findings and recommendations from data and present findings clearly and accessibly for colleagues with different levels of confidence using data.
  • Undertake qualitative and quantitative research including interviews, focus groups, survey/methodology design, FOI requests and analysing published data.
  • Review relevant academic and sector evidence/literature and policy documents and identifying priorities for our advocacy work.
  • Produce, edit and proofread reports and briefings relevant for our advocacy work.
  • Stay abreast of relevant wider sector developments to inform and improve our work approach - particularly in terms of MOJ and Home Office data and policy developments.

Fundraising and Impact (15%)

  • Support the collection of evidence, statistics, case studies and learning for reports, funders, and organisational planning.
  • Work with the SLT to support the development of funding bids and impact reporting to funders.
  • Evidence the organisation’s impact through clear visualisation of impact and publications to different audiences.

Communications (20%)

  • Work with the SLT to support the organisation’s external communications through engaging data and insights/content.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of the organisation’s social media analytics and website statistics; collating, analysing and reporting on results in a regular and timely manner, and using data to feedback against objectives and make suggestions for improvement.

Organisational support (5%)

  • Work with the SLT to ensure data compliance by following safeguarding, equality and data protection policies.
  • Contribute to a culture where data is used confidently, ethically and effectively.
  • Keep up to date with relevant developments in CRM, data management, charity insight, digital analytics and data protection.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the SLT that are consistent with the level and purpose of the role.

Demonstrating agility and flexibility is a key requirement for this role.

Pay: £28,000.00-£34,000.00 per year

Do you have experience in Project management?, We are seeking a motivated and curious Data & Insights Officer to strengthen the data capability and practices at The Hardman Trust. In this role, you will lead our data monitoring and ensure that our data and systems are relevant and accurate. You will lead data analysis and interpretation across our programmes and generate insights to ensure our work is evidence-based, and used to support continuous improvement, planning and shape future priorities.
