Job description

We are seeking a Data Analyst to support the Air Force Readiness Analysis and Decision Support mission by delivering timely, high quality readiness analyses and visualizations to senior Air Force leadership. This role focuses on transforming complex readiness data into actionable insights that inform operational decisions, policy development, and resource allocation across the Air Force enterprise., * Analyze historical and current Air Force readiness data to support enterprise level decision making and force readiness assessments.

  • Leverage Air Force systems and constructs-including DRRS-S, DCAPES, AFFORGEN, and Unit Type Codes (UTCs)-to evaluate operational capability, capacity, and risk.
  • Translate readiness challenges into analytic frameworks, dashboards, charts, and senior leader ready visualizations.
  • Support readiness analyses informing policy, programming, and funding decisions, including the Flying Hour Program, aviation fuels management, and related support activities.
  • Develop and maintain recurring and ad hoc readiness products for AF/A3TR, including executive briefings and senior leader updates (e.g., Vice Chief of Staff Readiness Briefs).
  • Respond rapidly to Air Force, Joint Staff, OSD, and Congressional inquiries with data driven analyses and clearly communicated findings.
  • Apply automation and efficiency techniques (e.g., robotic process automation) to reduce manual data tasks and support distributed data environments.
  • Perform supporting documentation and administrative tasks required to sustain readiness analytics and reporting efforts.

Requirements

The position requires strong analytic judgment, deep familiarity with Air Force readiness data systems, and the ability to respond rapidly to time critical requests from Air Force, DoD, and Congressional stakeholders., * Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience conducting data analysis, visualization, and reporting in a government, DoD, or Air Force environment.
  • Working knowledge of Air Force readiness reporting systems (DRRS S, DCAPES, AFFORGEN, UTCs).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate analytic results clearly to senior leaders.
  • Ability to operate effectively under time critical deadlines and respond to urgent analytical requests.
  • Familiarity with Air Force organizational constructs, unit manning, equipment, and supply requirements.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one., Master’s degree in a related discipline.

Experience supporting Air Force readiness reporting, policy development, or resource planning.

Familiarity with Air Force and DoD reporting standards and Congressional reporting requirements.

Experience integrating analytic outputs into predictive readiness or decision support models., * Bachelor’s (Required)
