Job description
- Translate multi-source data into due diligence findings and recommend storage and hybrid architectures for evolving customer needs.
- Provide hands-on leadership across design, procurement, permitting, interconnection, construction, and commissioning.
- Direct and review work performed by external Engineers of Record.
- Champion process improvements, systems integration, and controls updates.
- Conduct market and technical analyses to inform storage strategy.
- Identify and implement value-engineering opportunities and emerging technologies., * Detailed design engineering across electrical, structural, and civil disciplines for augmentation programs.
- Management of multiple high-volume projects from concept through execution, partnering with early-stage and construction project managers.
- Ongoing tracking of progress, issues, and risks within assigned technical areas.
Requirements
Do you have experience in System design for system development?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering?, * SME-level proficiency in substation or utility-scale energy storage design and project management, covering:
- Power electronics
- Battery storage system design
- Substation design
- Generation tie design
- Experience with large-scale power generation or processing facilities, ensuring regulatory compliance and high reliability.
- Construction familiarity: foundations, trenching, electrical terminations, testing, and safety best practices.
- Technologies: battery chemistries, power conversion units, DC-DC converters.
- Standards & Codes: UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, relevant IFC/IBC sections.
- Grid Integration: interconnection studies and GIA MMA processes in WECC and CAISO.
- Permitting and contracting experience for construction projects., * BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or related field).
