Job description
- Own design-phase activities for large-scale energy storage systems; engineer primary components to specification.
- Review drawings, resolve inconsistencies, and drive continuous improvement in design quality.
- Troubleshoot engineering studies; propose corrective and preventive solutions.
- Draft detailed technical scopes of work to support clear, competitive contracting.
- Partner closely with project managers from initiation through completion.
- Influence cross-functional teams on technical tasks and key decisions.
- Monitor progress and technical challenges; identify and mitigate risks early.
- Interface with suppliers to align interfaces and integrate major equipment.
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to optimize controls and system integration.
- Validate and interpret specifications for major equipment purchases; recommend remedies.
- Guide permitting approaches, address legal hurdles, and suggest site design enhancements.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Travel approximately 25% for project-specific responsibilities., Base in Juno Beach, FL or work remotely-your choice-with travel as needed to sites, vendors, and partner offices.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Vendor communication?, * Seasoned Solar/PV engineer (15+ years) or construction leader who thrives at the intersection of design and delivery.
- Comfortable architecting BESS solutions and integrating major equipment for grid-scale projects.
- Fluent in power electronics, substation and gen-tie concepts, battery chemistries, PCS, and DC/DC converters.
- Conversant with standards: UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections; familiar with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730.
- Ready to travel about 25% and work from Juno Beach, FL or remotely.
