Software Engineer IV

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a strong background in mainframe development to join an enterprise technology team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting mission-critical business applications in a collaborative Agile environment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with COBOL development, production support, and mainframe technologies while working closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and cross-functional technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain enterprise software applications.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and development teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release activities.
• Develop high-quality, production-ready code while following established coding standards.
• Perform application design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production issues in both batch and real-time environments.
• Support application enhancements, upgrades, and issue resolution.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.
• Conduct code reviews and recommend performance improvements.
• Ensure application security, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, automation, and DevOps best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Do you have experience in Triage?, * 10+ years of hands-on mainframe development experience.

• Strong experience with production incident triage and troubleshooting.

• Experience supporting both batch and online production environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills., * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

• Agile methodologies
• Previous experience within the insurance or financial services industry is preferred.
• Relevant technical certifications are a plus.
