Full-Stack AI Engineer

AgentPress is hiring a hands-on contract Full-Stack AI Engineer to build full-stack product, AI agent orchestration systems, embeddable widgets, and enterprise integrations. You’ll work directly with the VP of Engineering across the entire stack. 1099 contract, remote, 40 hrs/week, paid weekly. Must reside in the US or Canada and overlap 4-6 hrs/day with US time zones.

What you’ll do: Build and ship end-to-end features across Bun/Hono/Elysia backends, React/Next.js frontends, and PostgreSQL data layers. Work within our AI agent orchestration system: tool execution pipelines, RAG retrieval, multi-agent coordination, and real-time streaming via WebSockets. Develop and maintain embeddable IIFE chat widgets across client environments with complex CSP constraints. Interface directly with enterprise clients and troubleshoot production issues. Contribute to infrastructure: CI/CD, BullMQ, Redis, monitoring.

Do you have experience in Prompt engineering?, Strong TypeScript across frontend and backend. Solid React plus at least one Node.js server framework (Bun, Hono, or Next.js a strong plus). Comfort with PostgreSQL. Ability to read and extend an existing codebase. Excellent written and verbal English. Self-directed work ethic and experience with AI/LLM tooling, prompt engineering, RAG, or agent architectures. Prior work owning features end to end, preferably in a startup. Willing to overlap 4-6 hours on weekdays with US time zones.
