Job description

As an On-Site Desktop Support Engineer, you’ll serve as a trusted customer resource, providing hands-on support, endpoint management, and day-to-day IT operations while working closely with our remote engineering team to deliver exceptional service. You’ll serve as the primary local desktop support resource for users and facilities. Provide on-site and remote support for endpoint devices, user access, hardware deployments, inventory management, and operational IT activities across multiple locations in the region. Support vulnerability remediation, patching, and change management activities while escalating infrastructure, engineering, and security matters to the appropriate TBS technical resources.

We’re looking for a hands-on technician who thrives in a fast-moving office environment. You’ll own the day-to-day health of employee endpoints - from first unbox to decommission - and be the go-to resource for staff who need help getting back to work quickly and securely.

Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop user support, including account provisioning, deprovisioning, password resets, permissions maintenance, and end-user troubleshooting.
  • Image, configure, deploy, maintain, and decommission laptops, desktops, and peripheral devices.
  • Manage hardware and software inventory, asset tracking, assignment records, equipment audits, and lifecycle management.
  • Provide on-site desktop support at customer facilities throughout the greater Pittsburgh metropolitan area, including locations up to 60 miles from Cranberry Township, PA. Remote support will also be provided to users throughout the region.
  • Perform workstation patching, vulnerability remediation, endpoint maintenance, and endpoint security health checks.
  • Support air-gapped workstation patching and maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Participate in customer technology audit and change management meetings and assist with implementation activities as assigned.
  • Assist with hardware procurement coordination, equipment receiving, deployment logistics, and inventory replenishment.
  • Support onboarding activities, workstation preparation, and end-user orientation.
  • Assist with budget data collection, inventory reporting, and operational reporting as requested.
  • Troubleshoot MFA, SSO, hardware token, printer, network connectivity, and application-related issues.
  • Maintain documentation, knowledge base articles, asset records, and support procedures.
  • Escalate systems administration, infrastructure, cybersecurity, compliance, Citrix, backup, and engineering-related issues to the appropriate TBS resources.
  • When not engaged in direct customer support activities, assist with TBS internal initiatives and other assigned technical support functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
