Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Data Insight Analyst to support a major Empty Homes transformation programme within social housing.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong data analysis skills with the confidence to work directly with operational teams, helping translate data into practical actions that improve performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work closely with housing and operational teams to understand existing processes, analyse current performance data, and develop meaningful reporting that supports better decision-making around empty homes and lettings performance.

This is a client-facing role, so you must be confident engaging with non-technical stakeholders, explaining insights clearly, and helping teams understand how to use data effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Empty Homes transformation programme through data analysis and insight
  • Work with operational teams to understand housing and lettings processes
  • Analyse existing reporting and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance packs
  • Translate technical data into actionable business insights
  • Present findings and recommendations to operational stakeholders
  • Support performance improvement across empty homes and lettings services

  • Microsoft Power BI
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Azure Databricks
  • SQL reporting/querying

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience as a Data Analyst, Insight Analyst, Performance Analyst, or similar
  • Understanding of social housing, empty homes, lettings, or housing operations
  • Experience working with housing management systems, ideally NEC Housing
  • Strong Power BI and Excel skills
  • Ability to write SQL queries and work with large datasets
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with stakeholders
  • Ability to explain technical information to non-data users in a clear, engaging way

Nice to Have (not essential):

  • Experience with Azure Databricks
  • Previous experience with empty homes or voids performance reporting

Benefits & conditions

  • £27-£33 per hour depending on experience
