Job description

For our client in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Test Manager Data Landscapes (Integration layers, DWH, Data Marts, Reporting)

This is a high priority program of strategic importance. The Reporting & Data Management (RDM) workstream is responsible for the downstream processing of mortgage data provided by an external servicing partner via a daily data delivery file. This daily delivered file initiates the data journey that flows through Data Management to the downstream users of mortgage data. Additionally, within the scope of RDM, several point-to-point connections to adjacent systems are established. The data delivered to these main users then finds its way to multiple subsequent users and data marts.

As a Test Manager you are responsible for developing and drawing up the test strategy within the program. You play a crucial role in bringing together the business and technical teams, creating support and building an effective testing organization. You guide the development and business teams in devising the test approach, drawing up acceptance criteria and preparing test sets. You coordinate test activities to ensure efficient and timely execution and are responsible for the defect management process in which you act in a hands-on manner. You report to the Work Stream Lead RDM., * Define and own the overall test approach (data migration, data consistency and downstream impact)

  • Translate the approach into a concrete test plan with clear scope, phases, entry/exit criteria and ownership
  • Coordinate execution across squads, workstreams and external parties
  • Manage dependencies and sequencing across systems and data layers
  • Keep control over progress, issues and delays; continuously replan where needed
  • Ensure clear and realistic acceptance criteria (DoD), including alignment with Finance and Risk stakeholders
  • Drive decision-making, critically discuss scope and escalate when progress is at risk
  • Lead the testing stream as a whole, create the structure, pace and accountability
  • Take ownership of operational execution when needed: defect tracking, findings management, follow-ups and reporting
  • Ensure clarity on responsibilities across teams and systems in a complex landscape
  • The program is already ongoing so you need to pragmatically, but decisively adjust and improve the activities and responsibilities mentioned above (no time to greenfield a new set up)

Requirements

Do you have experience in JavaScript?, * 7+ years as Test Manager

  • Proven experience of leading testing in large-scale data migration programmes
  • Strong understanding of data landscapes (integration layers, DWH, data marts, reporting)
  • Experience working in complex, multi-team environments with high dependency density
  • Experience with Finance / Risk data or regulatory reporting is a strong plus
  • Mortgage domain knowledge is a plus

Skills & profile:

  • Strong understanding of testing principles, levels and migration-specific testing approaches (and ability to explain and enforce them)
  • Ability to structure testing in an environment with incomplete information and ongoing change
  • Senior in stakeholder management and conflict management
  • Delivery-oriented
  • Combines helicopter view with hands-on execution
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and constant changes
  • Proactive self-starter with strong ownership
  • Able to discuss data topics with both technical and business stakeholders
  • Fluent in Dutch

Would be a big advantage:

  • Experience working with external vendors
  • Ability to validate data independently (e.g. querying / analysing when needed), or enough understanding of this to formulate what steering information needs to be selected from the data
