Job description

The successful applicant will join a team supporting new product component introductions. You’ll deliver complex design solutions across global manufacturing, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

The Role

  • Design/package components: aluminium & cast iron castings, gear-train, valve-train, drive-train, in-cylinder parts
  • Input to breather, cooling, FEAD and lubrication system development
  • Lead FMEA/risk assessment, design reviews and validation needs definition
  • Produce drawings/technical data to internal standards for prototype and volume release
  • Manage deliverable mile stones, and collaborate with suppliers using Advanced Product Quality Planning APQP tools

Requirements

  • CREO10 expert; 6+ years CAD design experience
  • Strong engine or mechanical systems knowledge (incl. bolted joints, sealing)
  • Good understanding of casting, machining and manufacturing assembly principles
  • Strong communication, teamwork and self-management
  • HNC or technical degree preferred (mechanical/automotive) or equivalent experience
  • Not essential but beneficial to have:- Product Lifecycle Management PLM Tools experience, validation & verification, diesel, alternative fuels which are spark ignited.
