Software Engineer Weather Monitoring

• Develop, test, and deploy features for Waymo’s next-generation offboard weather systems and infrastructure under the guidance of tech leads.
• Implement and maintain scalable data pipelines for weather data ingestion, processing, and storage.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of real-time and forecasting weather applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering partners to deliver reliable, high-quality software solutions.
• Ensure high performance, code health, and stability for systems vital to safe fleet operations in diverse weather environments.
• Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and write comprehensive technical documentation.

Do you have experience in Developing and maintaining backend systems?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

• 4+ years of experience programming in backend coding languages.
• Strong foundation in computer science (data structures, algorithms, distributed systems).
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross-functional partners.

We prefer:

• Experience in C++
• Familiarity with Google infrastructure (e.g. Flume, Borg, Protocol Buffers, OnePlatform)
• Experience with payments, billing, or fintech systems where correctness is non-negotiable.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
