Job description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to support S3I at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. The candidate must have hardware integration and military system experience.

The Systems and Hardware Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Provide on-site systems engineering and technical support to S3I as part of a project team focusing on the engineering, development, and integration of software and hardware for PAE Fires on multiple system platforms
  • Work with teammates on hardware and software to create Fires capabilities for multiple DoD and other Government agencies
  • Travel and participate in various events and demonstrations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and fourteen (14) years’ experience; additional four (4) years’ experience can be considered in lieu of degree if the contract allows., * Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required., * Experience providing hardware engineering and product development support on DoD programs
  • Detailed knowledge and experience across the hardware engineering lifecycle from user needs and Concept of Operations (CONOPS) assessment through system modeling, requirements development, architecture, design support, testing, and systems validation
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with developing system configuration design and layout of hardware, cabling, and power distribution
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and document system hardware configuration and requirements
  • Experience conducting User Jury analyses as input for selecting the preferred user interface and workflow
  • Knowledge and understanding of Agile software programming processes and practices
  • Demonstrated experience in process establishment and improvement for engineering development
  • Experience performing analysis and producing documentation revealing the interdependencies between processes, technologies, applications, and data
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines (e.g., test, software, hardware) to ensure requirements are met and to avoid requirements creep
  • Superior communication (e.g., presentation, speaking, writing) skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
