Job description

The Network Engineer will be involved in configuring and maintaining network infrastructure, focusing on Cisco CLI, VLANs, and SD-WAN technologies. The role involves ensuring seamless network operations and supporting various network equipment and systems.

Network Engineer - Responsibilities:

Configure ethernet interfaces and VLANs using Cisco CLI
Understand and implement SD-WAN and policy-based routing
Check and modify ACLs and manage Cisco FTD firewalls
Diagnose network loops and errors
Rack, stack, and cable equipment correctly
Work with various network equipment, including DSLAMS, Cradlepoints, Starlinks, and point-to-point microwave systems

Requirements

Proficiency in Cisco CLI and VLAN configuration
Understanding of SD-WAN and policy-based routing
Experience with Cisco FTD firewalls and ACLs
Ability to diagnose network loops and errors
Familiarity with Cisco, Aruba, HP, and other network equipment
Strong customer relationship skills
Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff

Network Engineer - Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience with homelabs and various networking technologies
Knowledge of application servers, firewalls, and VPNs
Familiarity with Proxmox, VMs, Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes
Ability to “read the room” and adapt communication style
Experience with point-to-point microwave systems
