- Analyze scATAC-seq data for our scATAC Immune Atlas project under minimal supervision
- Work closely with immunologists and bioinformaticians to explore omics data for hypothesis generation and testing
- Assist scientists in data analysis, presentation, and publication
- Meet analysis deadlines and be able to pivot between multiple projects
- Contribute to a rigorously scientific, cohesive and efficient team environment

Requirements
- BS in bioinformatics or closely related discipline
Preferred Education and Experience
- MS in bioinformatics or closely related disciplines
- Hands on experience analyzing scATAC-seq data
- Basic knowledge of molecular biology and wet-lab omics technologies
- Demonstrated experience in writing code for omics data analysis
- Fluency in R and/or Python
- Experience in generating high quality graphs for presentation and/or publication
- Familiarity with cloud computing and/or linux
- Demonstrated success in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Ability to learn and implement new software tools and packages
- Experience using GitHub or similar version control system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills
- Able to work independently as well as in a collaborative high paced environment under minimum supervision
- Self-motivated, a team player, attentive to details, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Good problem-solving skills, curious and eager to learn new skills
Work Environment
- May enter laboratory environment - possible exposure to chemical, biological, or other hazardous substances
Physical Demands
- Fine motor movements in fingers/hands to operate computers and other office equipment; repetitive motion with lab equipment

The Allen Institute for Immunology is seeking a Bioinformatics Analyst I to analyze scATAC-seq data for our scATAC Immune Atlas project and prepare a manuscript submission. Reporting to a Bioinformatics Scientist at the Allen Institute for Immunology, the ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player who can work closely with immunologists and bioinformaticians, an excellent communicator who can translate data analysis plan into solid executable analysis code, a quick learner who can adapt new methodologies to achieve goals, and a tireless worker who can complete projects under time constraint.
