Job description

We are hiring a full-time (40 hours weekly), exempt Applications Coordinator I in our IT Department. The purpose of this position is to answer, direct, and respond to incoming calls, emails, and tickets from County staff and residents, escalating tickets to the appropriate person within the IT department., * Unlocks end user accounts, implements Two Factor authentication for VPN and administrative privileges.

  • Researches, evaluates, recommends and implements new management information system technologies, applications and systems.
  • Develops and documents functional and technical specifications based on business requirements.
  • Performs regular updates to operating systems and software packages along with server updates and maintenance; implements interfaces between operating system and personal computer software applications; develops and coordinates interfaces between the Internet, Intranet and operating system.
  • Communicates with consultants and vendors to determine appropriate hardware and software technologies for assigned projects; oversees vendor contracts for hardware and software support and maintenance.
  • Performs system operator duties, including but not limited to performing printer interfaces and data backups.
  • Manages various systems including but not limited to operating systems, computers, servers, printers, software, and data terminals in mobile vehicles, along with various departmental applications and web applications; which requires the ability to drive a County vehicle to multiple County locations.
  • Performs related work as assigned., Physical Demands: Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
  • Performs light to medium work that involves walking or standing virtually all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or considerable skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving close tolerances or limits of accuracy.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Network support?, Do you have a Associate’s degree?, * Associate’s Degree in Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

  • Three (3) years of experience in providing help desk, network or related services or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Must possess Criminal Justice Information (CJIS) Certification.
  • Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Certification.

This position is not remote or hybrid; in-office (onsite) work is required daily. There are some on-call and after hour responsibilities. Location: Government Center, 6 S. Congress Street, York, South Carolina
