Job description

United Mechanical is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Help Desk Technician to join our IT team. This role will provide day-to-day technical support for employees across multiple office locations, with primary responsibility for supporting the Sacramento office with travel to the other Bay Area offices as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong Microsoft 365 experience, excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, and the ability to provide professional in-person and remote support in a fast-paced environment. This position requires travel to Rohnert Park, Alameda and San Jose offices to assist with onsite IT support, equipment deployments, and infrastructure needs., * Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices (Apple and Android), printers, and related hardware and software.

  • Support and administer Microsoft 365 environments, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Azure AD/Entra ID.
  • Respond to help desk tickets, phone calls, and user support requests in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and Virtual Private Network (VPN) issues.
  • Set up, configure, and deploy computers and peripherals for new and existing employees.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including user provisioning and equipment management.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Support conference room technology and audiovisual systems.
  • Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and support activities.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers when necessary.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Wireless networking?, * 2+ years of experience in an IT Support role.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration and support.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts including VPNs, Wi-Fi, Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and printers.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple support requests.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional travel between offices., * Knowledge of endpoint management tools such as Intune.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and user account management.
