Job description

The purpose of this job is to provide advanced application development and software support, including security oversight, quality assurance/testing, and coordination/collaboration with technical staff and vendors. Leads development staff members and serves on project teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description

  • Conducts and oversees Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems management. Monitors system performance, mitigates issues, and delivers end-user support.

  • Provides technical direction and task assignments for coding, integrating, and configuring ERP systems and software.

  • Maintains systems and performs moderate server administration tasks. Coordinates communication across business units and vendors, working proactively to minimize impact on business continuity.

  • Oversees deployments, upgrades, and implementations. Delegates assignments, monitors progress, and troubleshoots issues.

  • Serves as liaison between vendor, technical staff, and business units to ensure issue resolution. Monitors tickets, assists vendor representatives with finding solutions, and escalates critical issues.

  • Analyzes web applications for security vulnerabilities and ensures that corrections are implemented as required to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Ensures software applications are up to date and adheres to business rules.

  • Ensures staff receive adequate training and educates city staff on software functionality and processes. Continually improves by creating standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and client instructions.

  • Develops and maintains reports.

  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No supervisory authority. Work does require providing guidance and training to others.

  • Designated lead-worker responsibilities.

Requirements

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered MUST BE A CURRENT CITY EMPLOYEE

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in software development and support

Licenses or Certifications

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification within 1 year of hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position Knowledge of:

  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system configuration and integration.

  • Software functionality and performance, Object-Oriented concepts.

  • Python, PHP, Structured Query Language (SQL), MySQL, PowerShell, JSON, XML, JQuery, JavaScript, WordPress, Android SDK, X-Code, and CSS.

  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Crystal Reports, Visual Studio Pro/Code, and Power BI.

  • Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and/or production methods.

Skill in:

  • Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the audience’s needs.

  • Applying active listening and asking questions for understanding.

  • Collecting, organizing, and analyzing complex and/or technical data.

Ability to:

  • Apply project management skills as required.

  • Apply logic and reasoning to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
