Job description

The CIOCC Tier 1 Analyst monitors, analyzes, and responds to security events and incidents using SIEM and multiple security data sources, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and Network Access Control (NAC). This role supports day-to-day SOC operations by triaging alerts, documenting activity, and escalating incidents when appropriate to ensure timely detection, investigation, and response.

Shift Options:

  • 2nd Shift: 12:00 PM-10:00 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 8:00 PM-6:00 AM

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of Security Operations Center (SOC) experience, or recent college graduate with relevant industry certifications
  • Proficiency working with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or UNIX (functional level)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly communicate technical details
  • Hands-on experience with Splunk or a comparable SIEM platform
  • US Citizen (required)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust clearance
  • Security monitoring experience with tools/data sources such as SIEM, firewall, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and/or NAC (preferred)

  • Preferred certifications/skills: CSIS, CEH, CSTA, CSTP, GCFE, CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, GPEN
  • IDS log analysis and incident triage experience
  • Packet capture tools and analysis experience
  • Knowledge of common network protocols/services (FTP, HTTP, SSH, SMB, DAP)
