Job description
- Supervise Network Administrators, Software Administrators, PC & Network Technicians, Administrative Secretary and Inventory Secretary ensuring District alignment and accountability directing the activities of the technology department
- Serve as a leader and general resources person in matters pertaining to Technology
- Design and implement assessment processes for measuring the utilization and effectiveness of technology to support continuous improvement
- Lead district technology initiatives, collaborating across department and functional areas
- Develop, manage and evaluate the technology budget
- Oversees district system projects to ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget
- Establish system-wide software and hardware standards, requirements and specifications
- Prepare Requests for Proposal for technology products and services
- Manage the application process for E-rate funds and other technology-related federal programs
- Participates in the application and administration of technology-related grants to optimize funding and school needs
- Make recommendations for the acquisition, implementation and maintenance of hardware and software at the district and building levels
- Develop and execute a comprehensive and cost-effective district technology rotation plan, ensuring appropriate preventive maintenance, repair services and replacement
- Ensure cost-effective purchase and repair of district technology
- Maintain current knowledge of new developments in the areas of software, hardware, networks, telecommunications, training and maintenance
- Develop and implement a schedule for assessment of district technology
- Collaborate with members of administration to support student achievement through embedding technology in teaching and learning
- Work effectively with vendors and other external partners
- Ensure maintenance of inventory and life-cycle records of all district technology
- Develop training programs for district staff to support effective and consistent application of technology in classroom instruction and operations
- Provides administrative and technical support for operational and instructional technology
- Ensures maintenance and data integrity of student information systems
- Ensures adherence to state reporting requirements for student data
What We Offer: As a contracted employee, this position is assigned to work 234 days per year and 8 hours per day.
- Salary details are available within the SASO/SAST Agreement
Starting salary is in accordance with the negotiated agreement, increases with experience and education.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Information Technology with extensive knowledge of infrastructure requirements and components of area networks, internet and intranet
- Extensive knowledge of trends and future directions of technology in the learning environment
- Understanding of the application of academic technologies to increase student success
- Strong collaborative skills; experience working effectively in a team environment with a customer-service focus
Benefits & conditions
The SASO/SAST agreement and the Board of Education are currently working on a new professional agreement. While that is in the works, please refer to the current agreement as to pay and benefits that are in place for the 2025-26 school year.
