Job description

Vantor is seeking a Software Engineer to work in an agile and fast paced customer environment supporting users whose mission is to solve unique and challenging problems for Special Operations. The selected candidate will be part of a small multi-disciplinary cyber team and have the unique opportunity to interact directly with users and other technologists to ensure development and tools meet the needs of the customer. The selected candidate will be responsible for working at all levels of the stack from virtualization up through services and orchestration., * Designing, implementing, operating, and maintaining a full suite of local and cloud-based services.

  • Administration and troubleshooting of private clouds, automating infrastructure and software deployment, and general system and network administration activities.
  • Supporting an “all-hands on deck” approach at times because of the fast-paced and small nature of the team, which may include some scripting using Python or Bash.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with current/active TS/SCI security clearance
  • 5 years of experience in data engineering
  • Experience with managing virtualization platforms (Vsphere)
  • Experience with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
  • Experience in development using Python
  • Experience with shell scripting, such as bash programming or PowerShell programming
  • Must be able to work onsite at the customer site in Annapolis Junction

Preferred Skills:

  • 2 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Network Administrator
  • Experience with Linux system administration
  • Experience with software engineering tools (Git)
  • Experience with SIEM data normalization
  • Experience with data visualization dashboard creation (ELK)
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS)
  • Experience with Infrastructure As Code (IAC) tooling (Ansible and Terraform)
