Job description
- We are seeking an experienced Data Security Consultant to lead Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) assessments, enabling organizations to identify critical data risks, define use cases, evaluate DSPM products, and develop a comprehensive DSPM adoption strategy and roadmap. The role focuses on end-to-end data security transformation, spanning discovery, classification, DLP, risk assessment, use case mapping, and solution selection aligned with regulatory and business requirements.
- Key Responsibilities
- DSPM Assessment & Current State Analysis
- Perform enterprise-wide data security posture assessment across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments
- Evaluate existing controls against DSPM maturity models and industry frameworks (NIST, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
- Identify gaps in data visibility, governance, and protection controls
- Conduct data discovery & classification analysis across structured and unstructured data
- Use Case Identification & Mapping
- Identify and define high-value DSPM use cases, such as:
- Sensitive data exposure monitoring
- Data access governance & entitlement review
- Cloud data risk posture (S3, Azure Blob, Snowflake, etc.)
- Compliance monitoring (PII, PCI, PHI)
- DSPM Product Evaluation & Selection
- Define functional and technical requirements for DSPM solutions
- Conduct:
- OEM capability assessment (BigID, Cyera, Symmetry Systems, Microsoft Purview, etc.)
- Feature benchmarking (discovery, classification, lineage, risk scoring, remediation)
- Create solution comparison matrix and recommendation report
- Ensure alignment with:
- Existing security stack (SIEM, DLP, IAM, CASB)
- DSPM Adoption Strategy & Roadmap
- Define phased DSPM adoption strategy, including:
- Pilot use cases
- Tool onboarding approach
- Governance model
- Build implementation roadmap with milestones, KPIs, and success metrics
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Data Security, DSPM, DLP, or Information Protection
- Understanding of: Data lifecycle security (Data-at-rest, in-transit, in-use) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform data services)
- Hands-on or consulting experience with: DSPM tools (BigID, Cyera, Microsoft Purview, Symmetry Systems, Security.ai, Zscaler etc.))
- Knowledge of: Data classification frameworks, Data access governance and Data risk & exposure management
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework, Data Protection standards
- Regulatory & Framework Knowledge - Strong stakeholder communication and documentation skills
- Consulting & Analytical Skills - Use case definition & business mapping and Risk assessment and prioritization
