Job description

For decades, Legacy background screening providers have raised prices using outdated technology while delivering sub-par support to match. Customers deserve better., Yardstik is hiring a Solutions Architect to own our most technically complex and highest-stakes customer and partner engagements. This role sits at the intersection of the organization - you’ll co-design API integrations with platform customers, serve as the technical authority in enterprise sales engagements, and make sure that what gets built actually works in production.

You’ll also be Yardstik’s primary field intelligence channel back to Product - the person who sees where our API breaks down, where customers need capabilities we don’t have yet, and where we should invest next.

This role is on the GTM team and will work closely with Technology. Platform & Enterprise Engagements

  • Lead technical architecture conversations with platform customers building directly into Yardstik’s API
  • Create integration plans and technical blueprints for enterprise and platform engagements, scoped to each customer’s environment and build approach
  • Participate in late-stage discovery and technical deep-dives for complex enterprise deals, serving as a credibility anchor with a prospect’s engineering team

Build Support & Go-Live

  • Guide platform customers through their build from design through QA and production launch
  • Own the go-live window - the high-stakes period where bugs surface and trust is made or broken
  • Provide ongoing engineering support for major customers and platform partners post-launch

Product Feedback & Documentation

  • Maintain a formalized feedback loop to Product, surfacing API gaps, capability requests, and recurring friction patterns observed in the field
  • Build internal documentation for complex integration patterns that the broader SE team and Customer Success can reference

Partner & Ecosystem Relationships

  • Serve as Yardstik’s technical point of contact for strategic ATS, HRIS, and marketplace partners at the engineering level
  • Help evaluate and shape new integration partnerships from a technical feasibility standpoint

Requirements

  • 3-5 years in a Solutions Architect, Partner Engineering, Technical Solutions Engineer, or senior pre-/post-sale technical role in a B2B SaaS environment
  • Fluency with REST APIs - you can review an integration design, spot issues, and propose alternatives
  • Experience co-designing API integrations with customers or partners
  • Comfortable in tools like Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, and GitHub
  • Ability to operate credibly with a customer’s VP of Engineering and their Head of HR in the same engagement
  • Strong written communication; you produce documentation that developers actually use
  • Self-directed and comfortable in ambiguity - you’ll often be building the approach

Benefits & conditions

  • Hybrid work environment
  • Access to our Minneapolis office
  • Competitive compensation packages
  • Medical, dental, and voluntary benefits
  • Unlimited PTO
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 6 weeks for non-birthing parents
  • Monthly team events
  • Quarterly volunteer opportunities

Equal Opportunity Employer

About the company

Yardstik is building the Human Trust Platform - technology designed to help organizations continuously verify identity, credentials, and risk before and after hire. In a world where AI has made it easier than ever to fake identities, forge credentials, and exploit hiring systems, point-in-time background checks no longer cut it.

Our approach focuses on transparent partnerships and transformative technology to help customers run fewer unnecessary checks while meaningfully saving time, money, and their sanity.

Founded in 2020 in Minneapolis, Yardstik has been named a Best Place to Work every year since launch.
