Job description

This position focuses on software development and data engineering with an emphasis on ETL processes and Ab Initio technologies. The role involves designing, developing, testing, optimizing, and supporting complex data pipelines and transformation workflows across heterogeneous data environments. The candidate will contribute to building scalable and efficient ETL solutions while ensuring data quality, performance optimization, and production stability. Responsibilities include working extensively with Ab Initio GDE, Co>Operating System, Enterprise Meta>Environment (EME), relational databases, SQL development, and Unix/Linux scripting. The role also requires close alignment with SDLC and Agile methodologies, troubleshooting production issues, maintaining technical documentation, and supporting governance requirements. Candidates with exposure to cloud data platforms, Hadoop ecosystems, and financial services data environments will be considered advantageous., ETL Development: Design, develop, and test complex Ab Initio graphs using the Graphical Development Environment (GDE) to extract, transform, and load data from heterogeneous sources. Data Processing: Implement data quality checks, data cleansing, and complex transformation logic within the Ab Initio pipelines. Performance Tuning: Monitor graph performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize Ab Initio components for maximum efficiency and parallel processing. Scripting & Automation: Write Unix/Linux shell scripts for job automation, file manipulation, and scheduling integration (e.g., using Autosys or Control-M). Database Integration: Write and optimize SQL queries for relational databases (e.g., Oracle, Snowflake, PostgreSQL) to support data extraction and loading processes. Production Support: Assist in troubleshooting and resolving data discrepancies, pipeline failures, and performance issues in UAT and production environments. Documentation: Maintain technical documentation mapping data lineage, transformation logic, and architectural designs in compliance with data governance standards.
