#1 about 3 min

Introduction to domain specific languages and their applications

Custom languages address specialized business problems better than general programming languages.

#2 about 4 min

Reducing maintenance costs by decoupling domain knowledge implementation

Dedicated domain languages allow domain experts and developers to work efficiently with specific vocabularies and optimizations.

#3 about 3 min

Choosing paradigms and abstractions for specific domain languages

Designing an effective language requires focusing strictly on the target problem rather than replicating general programming paradigms.

#4 about 2 min

Implementation challenges integrating standard IDE support features

Building a usable custom language requires implementing custom parsers alongside standard features like code completion and scoping.

#5 about 4 min

Simplifying language engineering with the Langium framework stack

The Langium framework automatically generates core parsers and language services from a single grammar definition file.

#6 about 4 min

Managing cross-references and grammar definitions within Langium

Specific syntax constraints for cross-references provide immediate out-of-the-box support for symbol renaming and code navigation.

#7 about 3 min

Workspace management and language server protocol integration capabilities

Native support for multiple documents and standard language server capabilities enables robust diagnostics and automated quick fixes.

#8 about 2 min

Running custom language parsers in web browser environments

Deploying language tools via web workers creates lightweight demonstration playgrounds independent of standard file system constraints.

#9 about 4 min

Demonstrating a custom language grammar with mini logo

A practical example demonstrates defining abstract syntax trees and parse rules to build a visual drawing language.

#10 about 4 min

Generating code and initializing customized toolchain boilerplates

Traversing the parsed abstraction layers generates functional graphical outputs and establishes initial developer environments locally.
