STANDARD Medien AG is one of the most modern and largest media companies in Austria. In addition to the multi-channel news and discourse medium DER STANDARD, STANDARD Marketplaces and the sales service and corporate publishing agency velcom are also under the umbrella of Medien AG, based in the center of Vienna.

First published as a quality newspaper in 1988, today's STANDARD Medien AG (then DER STANDARD) has grown into a group with over 500 employees that has significantly changed Austria's media landscape and actively promotes social discourse in Austria.

Since January 1, 2017, this has been happening under the leadership of Alexander Mitteräcker, the sole member of the Management Board of AG

DER STANDARD Verlagsgesellschaft: DER STANDARD is a liberal medium. Whether as a newspaper, online at derStandard.at or in the forum: as the fourth estate of the state, it has a great responsibility to inform society with independent, fact-based news and, as Austria's largest discourse platform, to encourage as diverse an exchange as possible at eye level. 

DER STANDARD Marketplaces: In addition to the in-house real estate and job search platforms, finden.at is another brand that rounds off the STANDARD's wide range of services.

velcom: velcom GmbH was created as a merger of the sales division of the daily newspaper DER STANDARD and the corporate publishing agency Egger & Lerch. It is aimed at companies that want to strengthen their market presence and increase their sales success.
