Job description

Maintain existing and implement future technical, mainly information security related, compliance requirements within Unwired's products. Understand and implement technical standards (e.g. IEC 62443) including their full documentation and changes to processes, policies and guidelines for the engineering teams. Consult the technical teams from a compliance perspective on necessary technical changes (e.g. secure boot, TPM).

You will be expected to work with internal teams, hardware vendors, partners and customers with specific project requirements (e.g. public tenders with security requirements).

Your responsibilities

  • Analyze, interpret and operationalize technical and regulatory standards (e.g. RED 3.3, IEC 62443, NIS 2, CRA, EN 50155, ISO 27001) into actionable internal guidelines for development, testing, QA, and deployment.

Own our compliance documentation and their fulfillment, mapping standards to specific technical measures, tests, and configurations.

  • Ensure compliance requirements in our products, software development & operations, and adjacent processes.

  • Identify potential compliance risks early in the product lifecycle and advise on technical and procedural mitigations.

  • Work closely with our software development team and hardware vendors to ensure compliance-related requirements are understood, implemented, and verified.

  • Define and review test plans and acceptance criteria to verify compliance with applicable technical and cybersecurity standards

  • Audit internal processes, software (incl. source code) with the internal development team.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing traceable evidence of compliance and supporting certification activities.

Stay up to date with evolving regulatory frameworks for wireless communication, IT security, and embedded systems in the transportation and industrial sectors.

Requirements

Technical background: Solid understanding of technical software systems with Linux, cloud service components, networking and software development processes

Norms and standards knowledge: Experience with information security related, standards and legal requirements

Compliance-to-implementation mindset: Ability to translate normative requirements into practical development, configuration, and testing requirements

Analytical and structured workstyle: Systematic approach to interpreting complex standards and identifying technical & procedural gaps

Collaboration and communication: Skilled in cross-team communication and capable of explaining compliance implications to engineers, QA and management in clear, technical language

Documentation and reporting: Precise, audit-ready writing and documentation capabilities (e.g. compliance matrices, traceability reports, technical compliance statements)

Preferred background: Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field; experience in regulated industries (rail, automotive, telecom, or industrial automation) is a plus

Language skills: Excellent German and English skills (verbal and written)
