Intro Join our engineering team to architect and build enterprise-grade commerce platforms that power global businesses. You'll spend most of your time crafting scalable backend systems with Vendure and modern React applications, while dedicating part of your efforts to advancing our open-source commerce platform. We're seeking an engineer who thrives on technical challenges and wants to influence architectural decisions, not just write code. Responsibilities
- Architect robust solutions for high-traffic enterprise commerce platforms alongside a talented engineering team
- Build across the entire TypeScript stack, from database queries to user interfaces
- Craft maintainable, performant components with comprehensive test coverage and clear documentation
- Shape the evolution of Vendure, our open-source headless commerce platform used by thousands of developers
- Drive technical planning sessions and contribute to feature design and system architecture
- Stay current with emerging technologies and share knowledge with the team
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working in a professional environment
- Strong proficiency with Node.js backend frameworks such as NestJS or Express
- Proven track record with comprehensive testing strategies using tools like Vitest and Playwright
- Deep React expertise, particularly with Server Components and Next.js ecosystem
- Proficiency with AI-powered development tools like Cursor or Claude Code
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities (English; German is a benefit)
Bonus Points:
- DevOps toolkit experience including Docker, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and container orchestration
- Track record of creating structured documentation and workflows for AI-assisted development
