Job description

Key scope of the Photonic Design Engineer (SiN / TFLN): Design & develop integrated photonic components and circuits for both customer-driven projects and strategic roadmap initiatives.

  • Advanced passive components leveraging the company's SiN platform
  • Active component integration via hybrid and heterogeneous assembly (photodiodes, modulators).

Drive design and layout methodology for new technology development:

  • Create early-stage process-design kits for R&D engagement.
  • Optimise design and layout code reusability, implementing industry best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of device, fabrication, and test databases.

Collaborate across teams:

  • Work with the characterization team to support test planning, design for testability and data analysis.
  • Coordinate with process and yield engineering teams for manufacturability requirements and test structures.
  • Support mask assembly, tape-out management, and documentation.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in photonics, optics, physics or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in integrated optics design ideally in an industrial environment.
  • Hands-on experience with photonic design tools,
  • Experience with active components (III-V) and heterogeneous integration is a plus.
  • Experience setting up design and layout databases is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and experience working with remote teams.
