Application Modernization Architect

We are looking for an Application Modernization Architect to join our Software & Platform Engineering (S&PE) capability within Accenture Technology. In this role, you will help clients modernize their digital core to enhance capabilities, reduce costs, and deliver products faster.

You will design modernization strategies and solutions leveraging both progressive modernization (business-driven, incremental) and scaled modernization (technology-driven, executed at speed).

Your job

As an Application Modernization Architect, you will:

• Define application modernization strategies tailored to client context, balancing progressive and scaled approaches.

• Design target architectures and migration roadmaps for application portfolios, leveraging cloud-native solutions, containerization, and modern DevOps practices.

• Partner with client stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into modernization solutions.

• Support delivery teams in implementing modernization initiatives, ensuring architectural compliance, scalability, and security.

• Guide technology selection and integration of cloud platforms, APIs, and automation tools to accelerate modernization.

• Collaborate with other Accenture teams (Cloud, Data, AI) to design end-to-end modernization solutions.

• Provide advisory and thought leadership to clients, showcasing Accenture's modernization approaches and assets.

• Contribute to the growth of S&PE by sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and developing reusable accelerators.

Do you have experience in SDLC?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 8 years of experience in application architecture, modernization, or cloud transformation.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and DevOps practices.
• Fluency in English + French OR Dutch is mandatory
• Experience with portfolio assessment and migration planning (nice to have).
• Knowledge of AI-assisted modernization approaches (nice to have).
• Familiarity with Agile and scaled delivery frameworks (nice to have).

Certifications

• Cloud certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent).
• TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.
