Forward Deployed Engineer - AI Security (Zürich)

Lakera builds the technology foundation for securing AI systems in the enterprise. Our products help organizations protect, monitor, and manage their AI infrastructure. Now part of Check Point, we're scaling globally and expanding our customer-facing engineering team.

The Role

We're hiring our first Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to work at the frontier between customers and engineering. You'll partner with strategic enterprise accounts to deploy, integrate, and scale Lakera's platform in complex environments.

This is a deeply technical, customer-embedded role focused on deployment success and expansion. You'll design integrations, solve performance bottlenecks, and occasionally build small features or prototypes when needed.

You will:

• Own the technical success of a few high-value, high-touch customers from onboarding through expansion.
• Deploy Lakera in on-prem, VPC, and hybrid environments - ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
• Design and implement integrations across APIs, data pipelines, and authentication systems.
• Work with customer engineering teams to optimize workflows, debug production issues, and tune system performance.
• Build custom connectors, adapters, or lightweight features that unblock adoption.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineers, Product, and Core Engineering to ensure customers go live smoothly and expand usage.
• Represent customer needs internally, translating field learnings into roadmap input.
• Occasionally travel (10-20%) for deployment, workshops, and relationship building.

Do you have experience in Slack?, * Proven success building or deploying deeply technical products in enterprise settings.

• Strong technical foundation - degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience as a software engineer, solutions engineer, or forward deployed engineer.
• Proficiency with APIs, cloud, and distributed systems; comfortable designing and implementing integrations.
• Confident engaging with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where outcomes matter more than process.
• Professional maturity: you'll represent Lakera with some of the world's largest enterprises.
• Curiosity about AI, security, and enterprise systems.
• Ability to learn and execute quickly under pressure.
